Sun Bath – Why Sunlight Is Important For Good Health?

Sunlight is of prime importance for healthy life. It is no doubt one of the most healthful gifts of nature bestowed freely upon us everywhere. People who live in darkness suffer from infectious diseases, bones diseases and respiratory disorders. Sunlight is a divine gift of natural to man. It is cheap, natural and easy to nature cure for common diseases.

Not only the skin, but the whole body derives benefits from sunlight. Exposure to sunlight improves overall health and gives power and strength to the body. It helps nourish muscles and increases the proportion of calcium in them. Sunlight helps develop the size and strength of the muscles. It is also helpful in blood pressure, kidney problems and skin diseases. Blisters are burst and wounds are healed more speedily by the action of sunlight.

Sun bath is also beneficial to the pregnant women. If she takes sun bath regularly, she will get relief from the usual discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, fatigue, backache, over stimulation etc and lactation in the post-parturition period is also improved. 

There are some rules regarding sun bath –

1. Expose the body to sunlight either in the morning or evening.2. Expose the body for 10 minutes to one hour per day.3. Cover the head and eyes before sun bathing.4. Expose the entire bare body to sunlight or wear or cover the sex organs with little clothes.5. Stop the exposure to sun as you get exhausted, feel giddiness or burning sensation in the body.6. After sun bath, take cold water bath or wash the body with wet cloth.
