As a former cattery manager for 2 different rescue groups, I’ve seen just about all the cat trees available and this is the one I ordered for my own cats. It’s sturdy enough for them to run up and use as a launching pad to reach the top of my entertainment center, yet is at least $100 cheaper than comparable models in the pet stores. It looks just like the picture and appears to be very well made. Mine just arrived yesterday and I’m already ordering a second one to put out on the enclosed patio. It was clearly designed by someone who knows cats; so many are designed by people who think a particular design looks cute or nice, but don’t have a clue as to cat behavior. The nests and half beds are exactly the kinds of places cats like to curl up to nap and to observe their humans. This is a great piece of cat furniture.

It’s a cat tree. It’s quite stable, it has multiple levels, and cats can climb on it. What else do you want out of a cat tree.

This is Maggie’s first Cat Tree. She loved it from the moment she saw it. It’s by the patio door and a window, so now she gets to look out without having to jump on the bookcase or table. So, of course I love it too. The cat tree is very strong and I expect will last a lifetime. Maggie loves to play on it, sleep on it and use it for a look-out. She gets on the top level and looks down on me as I eat my meals. It’s worth every penny!! See the picture of Maggie I uploaded.

I bought this tree via Amazon because I’m getting tired of my furniture being scratched up and/or covered in hair. The goal is to transition my cats to using this as much as possible. It arrived in literally 2 days by truck freight. The listed dimensions don’t really capture its size. It is approximately 6′ tall overall and, thanks to the two round baskets, occupies tne full 2′ x 2′ footprint. Unlike a lot of cat furniture out there, this thing is sturdy and solid. I moved it up 2 flights of stairs by myself with no wheels or dollies. Not a single squeak, bend or rattle as I moved it. The carpeting and the scratching post are tightly attached to the posts and base. The materials are soft but not plush, which is how my cats like it.
It’s fairly easy for cats to jump from one level to another. There seemed to be a bit of apprehensiveness at first with my 2 cats but once they figured it out, it was no problem. My cats are pretty finicky about toys and cat furniture but they like this enough that they will now sleep on it for hours.
NOTE: It may well take some time for your cats to warm up to it. I had it next to a window and they didn’t like it at all. Would jump off each time I put them on it. Moved it next to a wall, but still within a few feet of my desk, and they began to investigate it. After I’d placed them on it a few times, they stopped jumping and started curling up. Now, when the sun hits it, they will make a beeline and jump onto it by themselves. They sleep on it for hours and have started using the scratching post and roll about a bit on the carpeted baskets. So don’t give up if yours don’t like it right out of the (very large) box.
Expensive but worth it for me.

I think the cat tree is well constructed and very stable. I bought it for my two new kittens who won’t be going outside. They do like to sit on it, but they don’t spend tons of time on it, maybe because they are too busy running arount the house like complete nuts! I wish that they scratched the post more (there is only one that is covered with rope). Instead they’ve burrowed into my box spring so one can scoot around on top of the fabric at the underside of the boxspring and the other lies on his back with his feet up and he “runs” on the boxspring fabric upside down chasing his brother on the inside! The shredding sound is unnerving, especially if you’re trying to actually sleep on the bed. Anyways, at some point when they aren’t so wound up, I think that they will enjoy lounging on the very spacious and well constructed platforms. They just don’t know how to lounge yet!
Update: The kittens don’t lounge much, but they run up this cat furniture, jumping from post to platform, chasing each other and having a total blast. I upped my star rating. They adore this thing. They have scratched big tufts of carpet out of one post and it makes a bit of a mess, but I can only thank my lucky stars that it is the cat furniture and not my sofa!! I tied a toy on an elastic string to one post and they play with it until they destroy it. I’m on my fourth little toy at this point. Highly recommend this for helping the cats get their energy out in an acceptable way! I’d buy another for my upstairs if I could afford to.
