These powerful 8-1/4-inch shears have all the qualities desired in kitchen shears. They’re balanced in the hand, and the blades curve inward so they meet in only one place at any given position, providing smooth, precise cutting action. The handles’ loops are large enough for thick fingers, and one blade has microscopic serrations to prevent slippage. Use these heavy shears to cut food, bone, flowers, paper, cardboard,… More >>

These are the only kitchen shears I’ve found that (a) are solid steel up through the handles, (b) have one smooth cutting edge and one micro-serrated cutting edge and (c) come apart easily for proper cleaning. Alton Brown recommended them on Good Eats, and they are almost impossible to find to purchase separately (without a knife set). Very pleased with them.

I bought these based on the general recommendation of the Good Eats TV show.
They:
- are made of stainless
- come aparts so that you can clean them properly and
- have longer handles to give you leverage
They work very well
