Keep the blinds closed. If you have windows facing the west, put up draperies or curtains to block out the afternoon sun.

having one of those box fans in the windowsill blowing OUT an open window will draw hot air from the room.
it works for me i live in an 80 year old apartment!

1. Throw ice cubes in your bed.
2. Periodically hose it down.
3. Make it a “swimsuit only” zone
4. Keep a biiiiiig glass of lemonade handy at all times.

We use a ceiling fan for most of the summer and when it gets real hot, I place a fan in front of our window to pull in cool air after it cools down out side. Our window is on the north side of the house.

i know this may sound ghetto, lol, but wet light coloured sheets in cold water and put them in place or over your curtains with the window open (put a screen on the window so bugs don’t come in), keep lights down low, try not to use alot of electricity.. like use half of what you usually would use by hanging your clothes to dry outside, keep unnecessary lights off, open windows instead of using ac’s. if you’re feeling hot during the day, instead of sitting in front of the fan, lol, drink LOTS of ice water and go for a walk =] it helps trust me.
